Make your old doorbell smart with Home Assistant and ESPHome
The other day I was browsing the internet and came across this awesome ESPHome doorbell project by Marcel Zuidwijk!
Such a simple solution to get your doorbell integrated into Home Assistant without any cloud necessary. And for ~ 20 EUR it seems reasonably priced as well. I mean it does not have a camera but still will allow you to notify you in any way you want. It is Home Assistant, heck you could hook up your own camera with that and start recording when the bell rings.

Sometimes I wish I were allowed to tinker in my flat just to install stuff like this.
Maybe I do need to buy my own place someday just to have control over this.
